Scott Weiner, Ph.D., J.D. is a Clinical Psychologist practicing and residing in San Diego's North County. Dr. Weiner's therapeutic style is highly eclectic. He uses every means he can imagine to understand and reach his patients. He will crawl about with your four year-old, exchange stories with an older child, help an adult address and modify a troubling thought-behavior problem, aid an executive to understand and change the culture of the workplace, or explore life, death, and eternity with an elder. Kindness, humor, understanding, and love of living are touchstones in his practice. First trained in Communications and Group Dynamics at the University of Minnesota, Dr. Weiner was an early instructor in the Minnesota Couples Communications Program. He pursued Doctoral Study in Clinical Psychology at USIU in San Diego, finishing his Ph.D in 1984, and obtaining Psychology Licensure in 1986. He interned at Alvarado Hospital in San Diego, and has 30 years experience working with diverse clinical populations. In 1999, Dr. Weiner took sabbatical to reach a life-long goal, attending USC Law School and joining the California Bar in 2003.He lives in Del Mar with his wife (and superb therapist), Lorraine, his daughter, and Dog-Without-Peer, Charlie, the Golden Retriever (a remarkably fine therapist in his own right).
