Penny Goffman, Ph.D., Licensed Clinical Psychologist, received her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology in 1998 from Fielding Graduate University at Santa Barbara, California. Her two year postdoctoral fellowship in neuropsychology and forensics was at Baylor College of Medicine, Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences, in Houston, Texas.
Dr. Goffman’s additional clinical training sites included: medical school affiliated out-patient and in-patient facilities, independent school district’s middle and high schools, private practice, and out-patient facility for adolescent victims and perpetrators of sexual abuse.
Prior to Joining Coastal Psychiatric Medical Associates, Dr. Goffman was in private practice for eight years in Houston, Texas, providing her culturally diverse clients with:

- Anxiety and depression management
- Therapy for relational problems
- Personality disorders
- Self-esteem issues

- Life transitions (including loss and bereavement, elder care, career changes, and divorce)

Dr. Goffman was also contributing psychologist for professional and trade publications.
Prior to Dr. Goffman’s doctorate in clinical psychology, she was an educator for nine years and developed curriculum for middle and high school students, teaching English (Bachelors of Arts) and Theatre Arts (Masters of Arts) in Long Island, New York and Houston, Texas.
