Cheryl N. Bradish, Ph.D. is a licensed psychologist who received her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the California School of Professional Psychology, San Diego, in 1995 and her M.A. from Ball State University in Indiana, in 1986. Her doctoral dissertation research focused upon acculturation stress and depression in refugees.
Dr. Bradish has extensive experience in working with Mood Disorders and Anxiety Disorders. Multicultural mental health issues of immigrants, refugees, and American Indians are her primary areas of specialization. Dr. Bradish served on the Cultural Competence Resource Team of San Diego County. This committee evaluates the cultural competence standards of mental health programs in San Diego.
Dr. Bradish has experience with treating issues associated with intergenerational trauma, childhood abuse, chronic illness, relationship issues, spiritual issues, caregiver issues (children of elderly parents), and those who are coping with the loss of a loved one. Her practice includes work with individuals, couples (heterosexual and gay/lesbian), and groups. Age groups served include: adults, adolescents, and children (8 and above).
Previously, Dr. Bradish worked in a school system (educational diagnostician in TX), a vocational evaluation and rehabilitation unit, as well as a gay/lesbian center. She was a program manager for a refugee mental health program. Currently, she is a member of the San Diego Group Society and will be providing training in group psychotherapy for therapists-in-training in San Diego County.
