Mark R. Katz, MD has practiced psychiatry in the San Diego area for over 25 years. He has worked in a variety of different settings including his own private practice, outpatient clinics, the correctional system and in various hospital and residential programs.
He completed his psychiatry residency training at UCSD Medical School in 1982 and graduated from Northwestern University Medical School with honors in 1978.
In addition to providing excellent psychiatric consultation, Dr. Katz is very familiar with various medical and biological issues and is cognizant of the myriad factors that affect the lives and functioning of his patients. Dr. Katz has extensive experience in working with addictions and substance abuse, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, adolescents and their families, and a wide variety of adult issues.
His patients often describe Dr. Katz as very thorough, understanding, compassionate, diligent, hard working and down-to-earth. Dr. Katz also works very well with other health care professionals to coordinate and integrate a patient's treatment. Dr. Katz is married and has four cats that are very dear and important members of his family.
Dr. Katz is licensed and regulated by the Medical Board of California.
